The 2024/25 mid-year meeting is taking place at Ontario Tech University, Oshawa, Ontario, from 21 to 22 February 2025.
Hosted by the Faculty of Social Science and Humanities, the Law & Society in an Age of Connection and Distractionsymposium and mid-year meeting brings together a diverse group of interdisciplinary researchers from the humanities and social sciences to examine what digital technologies may be distracting us from and what truly demands our attention. The event features keynote presentations on the political economy and the legal, policy, and regulatory dimensions of digital technologies by Dr Natasha Tusikov (York University) and Dr Sara Bannerman (McMaster University). Additionally, the program includes a gallery curator talk with Olexander Wlasenko (Station Gallery) and an artist talk by Jessica Field (Ontario College of Art and Design).
