Our 2026 annual meeting will be held on 10-12 June 2026 at Acadia University (Wolfville, Nova Scotia) with the support of Dalhousie University.

Accommodation
A block of rooms has been reserved at the Old Orchard Inn. The group rates are as follows:
  • $199 per night for standard rooms with either one queen bed or two double beds, based on single/double occupancy (1-2 people per room).
  • $219 per night for standard rooms with one king bed, based on single/double occupancy (1-2 people per room).
  • Each additional adult is $10 per night + HST.
  • Please note: All rooms are subject to applicable fees and taxes (i.e., $5 per night Sustainable Resort Fee and 14% HST per night).

Kindly note that the hotel is not walking distance to Acadia University. If enough people book here, some shuttles to and from the conference can be arranged. 

Reservations can be made by calling the Old Orchard Inn's toll-free reservations number 1 (800) 561-8090. Please mention the Canadian Law and Society Association when making a reservation with one of the reservation agents. There is a 48-hour cancellation policy (two days prior to arrival) and a credit card will be required when making a reservation.

We also have a block of rooms in student residences at Acadia University that can be booked online. Once you are logged in and prompted to add a group code, use CLSA. (You can email Acadia Events if you need assistance making a reservation.)

Attention graduate students! Please submit your proposal to attend the workshop on 9 June 2026, the day before the conference begins. Applications are due on 30 March 2026. 
Picture
Travel grants for graduate students and postdoctoral fellows to attend the Annual Meeting are available by request subject to available funds. Applicants should provide the following information by email to [email protected] by 31 March 2026: (1) the applicant's status (graduate student or postdoc) and affiliated university, (2) the applicant’s point of departure/return if different from affiliated university, (3) an estimate of travel and accommodation expenses, and (4) the amount of funds from other sources. Approved funds will be disbursed by cheque at the Annual Meeting.
